Hello Houston!!

The Houston Game Development site is now LIVE!

Corporately funded by AAA companies?
NOPE

Associated in anyway with the IGDA or the Houston Chapter of the IGDA?
NOPE

Supporting local Houston Area independent Developers that make games?
MOST DEFINITELY

But let me point this out be clear.  Our motives are not just to promote ‘products’, our motives are to foster a healthy and thriving independent game community in Houston. Games are art, we will showcase that.

Soon we will have a developer directory listing, team project start ups, stories, and forum.  For now bear with us as we just launched this into orbit.

So let’s get this going!  Obviously this page is in it’s infancy as I write this.  We will be looking for other local game developers in and around the Houston area.  If you are a local area game developer, have a story on a new game you or your group has been working on, have a story, want to help out with meetups, wordpress, etc… please dont hesitate to send us an email:  contact  -at- houstongamedev -dot- org.

please join our twitter feed (that little bird that floats around to the right) and help us grow by spreading the word!

LET’S DO THIS!

Good to see some indie support out there!

What about us indies that are not located in Houston? Do we get some love too? 🙂

Right now we are kinda focusing on the Houston and greater Houston area. Easier to organize meetups and what not. But if you have a scoop, by all means send it to contact [at] houstongamedev.org and we’ll check it out. Either myself, Eric or Amy will get to it asap and at least give a reply back.

Aw, cool! I want to get involved!
